If you have ever considered mentoring a young person, now is the perfect time to get involved! Below are the basic requirements for applicants interested in becoming a mentor with the Anchored Mentoring Program.
We serve boys aged 11 through 19, and we hope volunteers will stay connected with their mentees for at lease 10 months and beyond.
Mentors should have a genuine interest in youth development, the ability to commit to regular meetings, and a willingness to support their mentee’s personal and academic growth. You’ll be able to choose the age group and background you are most comfortable with, ensuring a meaningful and impactful mentoring experience.

Be at least 16 years old.
Commit to a 10-month mentorship from the start date.
Have bi-weekly contact with your mentee.
Have no DUI or DWI convictions in the last 3 years.
Abstain from illegal drug use or substance abuse/misuse in the last 3 years.
Maintain a driving record with no more than 2 moving violations in the past year and no more than 3 in the past 3 years (seat belt and expired tags are not considered moving violations).
Provide your social security number for background screening.
